What is detoxification?
Detoxification refers to the body’s natural process of eliminating toxins through organs like the liver, kidneys, skin, and gut. It emphasises supporting these pathways through personalised nutrition, lifestyle changes, and targeted supplementation. Practitioners using the Functional medicine model focus on reducing toxic exposure (e.g., processed foods, pollutants, heavy metals) while enhancing detox mechanisms with various nutrients and compounds. Unlike fad detoxes, my approach is personalised and science-based, no two persons will be the same. After careful evaluation, I aim to restore your body’s balance by optimising cellular function and metabolic waste elimination in a personalised and safe manner.

Overview
Studied Nutrition Science (BSc) Hons and Personalised Nutrition (MSc) based on a systems biology approach, a holistic and integrative method used to understand complex biological systems by analysing their interconnected components, rather than studying individual parts in isolation. It involved a deep emphasis on nutritional biochemistry, and the influence of nutrients and food components on cellular and molecular pathways involved in the pathophysiology of a wide range of chronic diseases and weight management, using evidence-based pathophysiological reasoning. Clinical training involved being able to apply all this knowledge to four supervised clients experiencing a wide range of chronic health conditions to help ameliorate or prevent disease based on the Functional Medicine Model.

How is this programme different to others?
Many weight loss programmes may offer the same dietary & lifestyle recommendations for everyone, which means that a percentage of participants may benefit, whilst others may be left unfulfilled. My plans are different and fully personalised to each individual although some similarities may exist.

Are meals & recipes complex?
Not all all you will not be expected to be a chef! Most meals can be put together quickly (about 20 mins) and don’t cost a lot.
How flexible is the programme?
Very! You can start the programme whenever you want.
Do I need to do blood / urine test?
No it’s completely optional, but testing allows your personalised dietary and lifestyle recommendations be more meaningful for you.
What about physical activity?
Exercise and physical activity are good for just about everyone, including older adults. No matter your health and physical abilities, you can gain a lot by staying active. Inactivity is more to blame than age when older people lose the ability to do things on their own. Lack of physical activity also can lead to more visits to the doctor, more hospitalisations, and more use of medicines for a variety of illnesses. However, over and undertaining can be counterproductive and lead to diminishing returns. Basic suggestions will be given to assist in your weight loss.
What about if i have any food cravings?
Setting robust but realistic goals helps strenghten your focus and determination to succeed. Every person creates their own map of the world or perception of reality based on their lived experiences, and as a result, they may have established their own unique mental filtering system for processing all the data being absorbed through all our five senses. Behaviour change is included in my programme and will help you quit any cravings that you may have.
