My Integrative Sports Nutrition & laboratory testing analysis
can help unlock your performance & recovery potential

How can my ISN help you?

Integrative Sports Nutrition
I bridge the gap between two very separate disciplines: conventional sports nutrition and the integrative/functional medicine approach. If an athlete is to achieve their performance goals, they must firstly build a solid foundation for optimal health. This doesn’t just enable them to perform well in sports over the course of a season, but perform, preserve and reduce symptoms throughout your sporting life.

Research and evidence
Clinical sports nutrition research is not flux and is constantly evolving. By embracing an unbiased and evidence-based approach, I provide personalised integrative sports nutritional support to maximise your performance through effective management of your dietary lifestyle and performance nutrition strategies without sacrificing overall health, especially the gastrointestinal. By balancing and optimising your sports nutrition in a science-based way whilst considering your dietary and lifestyle preferences, you could take your performance to the next level. Work with me and leave no stone unturned to achieve your full potential.

Clinical advantage
The advantage of consulting with me is that as a Registered Nutritionist and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner and experience supporting patients and athletes recover from symptoms and chronic diseases. I understand pathophysiology at a deeper level than just knowledge of sports performance nutrition. Anyone involved in sports, whether recreational or professional, understands the importance respecting the balance between performance, reducing symptom onset, optimising short & long term health, mental health, particularly when consuming many supplements and a hectic lifestyle. I have experience of referring and collaborating with GP and other healthcare practitioners.

Lab test analysis & interpretation
My training allows me to analysing, interpret and apply lab testing results to personalise your dietary recommendations, which can be of immense benefit to your performance and recovery and reduce predisposition to injuries especially when considering genetic results. It is in these areas of expertise where I can be of great value to your health and sports performance.

Regulatory bodies

BANT CNHC logo

The British Association for Nutrition & Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) is the leading professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapy Practitioners in one-to-one clinical practice and a self-regulator for BANT Registered Nutritionists®, requiring members have a minimum degree in Nutrition and clinical training with a deep understanding of human biochemistry and biology. BANT oversees the activities, training and Continuing Professional Development of its members. It’s important to work with a regulated and clinically trained professional, as anyone can be a nutritionist, but not all nutritionist are regulated, academically and clinically trained at degree level.

BANT practitioner members are required to be registered either with the Complementary & Natural healthcare Council (CNHC) or be statutorily regulated (ie dietician). The CNHC holds a register accredited by the UK Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA), an independent body accountable to the UK Parliament. For context, the PSA also regulates General Practitioners and Dieticians in the UK and Gibraltar. CNHC membership ensures conduct, ethics and performance expected of all complementary health practitioners.

Evidence-based, personalised, targeted
and safe supplement & ergogenic aids

The legal and appropriate use of supplements and ergogenic aids for sports performance is still poorly understood and applied by many professionals in mainstream sports science, particularly sports medicine. Many team physicians and sports medicine practitioners are often unfamiliar with the latest research, benefits / risks of these products, therefore unable to educate young athletes on this topic. Furthermore, practitioners often recommend the same supplements and doses to a whole team of athletes, without being mindful of individual requirements; genetic and biochemical considerations, which could render a compound either effective, ineffective or cause adverse effects in different individuals, especially during demanding sporting events. My ISN approach takes a more pragmatic, personalised and evidence-based approach to supplements and ergogenic aids, whilst considering their clinical rationale, efficacy, cost/benefit ratio, and being mindful of international bodies and regulations which can change at a moment’s notice.
