ACHES, PAINS & INFLAMMATION
4 SESSIONS / 8 WEEKS
Functional medicine can support the reduction of joint and body aches by exploring the underlying patterns that drive chronic pain, stiffness, and fatigue rather than focusing solely on symptom relief. By recognising how inflammation, nervous system overload, metabolic imbalance, and impaired recovery contribute to ongoing discomfort, this approach works to restore balance within the body’s systems.

HIPPOCRATES
Identifying your root causes
Modern lifestyles often place the body in a constant state of low-grade strain that gradually shows up as persistent aches and pains, particularly in the muscles, joints, and connective tissues. Long hours of sitting, repetitive movements, poor posture, chronic stress, disrupted sleep, and limited restorative movement can subtly alter how the body moves and recovers, leading to stiffness, tension, joint discomfort, and widespread sensitivity commonly seen in conditions like fibromyalgia and chronic musculoskeletal pain. Many people recognise the pattern of feeling sore on waking, tight by the end of the day, or experiencing pain without a clear injury, symptoms that slowly become normalised and woven into everyday life.

Why is this program for me?
For many people, this description feels uncomfortably familiar. The regular bloating, persistent tiredness, unexplained aches, brain fog, frequent cravings, and feeling ‘run down’ despite trying to cope are often subtle signs that the body is struggling under an ongoing inflammatory load. What makes this especially relatable is how easy it becomes to normalise these symptoms, dismissing them as part of ageing, stress, or a busy life, until they begin to interfere with mood, movement, sleep, and overall quality of life. If you can identify with this, this programme may be for you and could give you the breakthrough you have been looking for to return to wellness and help you thrive!

Andrew Fortuna studied Nutrition Science (BSc) Hons and Personalised Nutrition (MSc) based on a systems biology approach, a holistic and integrative method used to understand complex biological systems by analysing their interconnected components, rather than studying individual parts in isolation. It involved a deep emphasis on nutritional biochemistry, and the influence of nutrients and food components on cellular and molecular pathways involved in the pathophysiology of a wide range of chronic diseases using evidence-based pathophysiological reasoning. Clinical training, required to meet UK National Occupational Standards, involved being able to apply all this knowledge to four supervised clients experiencing a wide range of chronic health conditions to help ameliorate or prevent disease based on the Functional Medicine Model.
